house update #3

The last update was about the plaster ceiling. Now, the making of our so called wet kitchen. Well mainly this is where the cooking essentials i.e lesung batu and tumis action will take place, inviting the neighborhood through the smells. It's 70% making its way.

Basically I incorporated the idea of getting acquainted in the neighborhood, but somehow it arose the sensitivity concern for hijabi's here especially when I'm all in kaftan prepping my most wanted nasi lemak in the open space wet kitchen. So the husband attempted to level the wall as per the picture says. Purportedly not that practical, but will make do with it for the time being.

The Kitchen Cabinet structuring. Well, IKEA charged RM3K for the structuring fees, so my engineering oriented husband decided to structure the cabinet himself. He's spending an hour half at night assembling the cabinet, piece by piece.  Pocket constrain urge the need for DIY at the moment :) Can I trust him for the job? Sure! He'd already install the lighting in the living dining and porch all by himself.

Basically there's still tonnes to do before we could finally move in and it all demands RM as wide as the Indian Ocean! So, we are making the means step by step.. Till my next update. Oh yes, the London post! Will do that in my next entry.

Salam.

plastering ceiling

Our weekend are now pretty much occupied - with the house of course, despite running the weekly errands. We've started on the plaster ceiling, and the kitchen cabinet will follow suit. Husband engaged a nearby contractor and detailed the concept we wanted with the limited budget that we possessed. The contractor were very nice, forked out his mind a simple and stylish design to meet our wants within our constrain.

 in.the.making.

For the time being, we settled for dining and main living area only. Will see for extension near future if budget permits :)

On Nov 1st

finally finally finally i'm writing again.. Life nowadays seemingly gave me less and lesser 'me time' :p No, I don't complaint you see, I'm thanking. I'm blessed.

Well, FIRSTLY the hallmark of all.. cough cough..

ta-daaaa... we are enchanted! the house is officially ours! Alhamdulillah on Nov 1st. We were called by the developer for the Key Giving Ceremony :)

after much anticipation we are now dredging our mind visualizing the concept, color, material, all the knots one could think of on furnishing the house .. now the adult in us are talking :p larders full of ideas and imaginations. *already foresee our weekend to and fro-IKEA* I ecstatically said I want the living to be like this, when the husband uttered oh no it has to be like that.. you see- the never ending argument. flipping magazines and interior surfing mode right onwards.

Our unit. Semi detached with 6 bedrooms and 1 maid's room. It comes with furnished security system linked straight to the guard house, luckily free 3 water heater (by the developer), and 2 years warranty for defect period.

the living and the main door.

the kitchen..

with hope to burnt calories - the staircase

third floor balcony

second floor living area

So, every penny earned from now on will be dedicated on furnishing the house. No traveling for the year.  Sobbs.

not my expertise

very very recently the husband make his way to our home for an update progress. Like i said earlier, i'm numb when talking pertaining house. be it purchasing neither structuring! I don't have a single clue on what a beam looks like or what composites materials used or what holds up the ceilings and the walls. I totally cannot imagine. I mean, when seeing a house under renovation, hubby will go "ohh, kemas kontraktor ni buat kerja die" whenever he sees one, analyzing the piece attached to another, whereas i on the other hand see it as just a piece of naked wall. Nothing more.

He knows what tabletop best fit the concept of a kitchen he has in mind. What solid and which are not or steel A are much much elastic if compared to steel B. Daannnggg! How difference could it be anyhow? He's the handy man. So, i would very much appreciate he take care on matters said. The later part i.e when deco came into picture, you definitely can rely on my ten fingers and a single brain of mine :)

I don't even understand what to describe what's happening here. Hubby took the picture. All i can say, 30% work completed. As per hubby said. *_*

On the site progress.

the staircase. hubby actually took like 50 pictures all together which i see it all are likely the same and he went those may seem similar but it's from different angel. For him to be able to measure the proportionate he said.

Purchasing a property has never been easy. Hassle particularly pertaining the documentations. And cost a loop to your bank account too!

emir's birthday & the house

of another weekend went by..

adam & mommy attending emir faiz's 2nd birthday bash. he managed with the party hat on top for at least half an hour before he tores it off.

take turn :) mommy's turn gobbling the divine serving.

the food was splendid! ayah had 3 times serving of nasi ayam! even adam had mouthful loads of it. thanks to the host! failed miserably to snap pictures with the birthday boy since he was too occupied entertaining guests.

and owh, we made a visit to our becoming home. for the first time since it started work. the sales & purchase signed in October 2010, thus hubby make up a point and initiated the visit since he wanted to capture the progress phase by phase. yours truly on the other hand, was skeptical in the first place since it's scorching hot for the past few days, so i dare not to let myself bare naked under the heat:p so, he went alone. sorry dear :p

the show-house. it's not 100% furnished thou. hubby personally do not favor the gate. and i couldn't be less agree. too simple and not nice, instead of simple and nice

the porch and the main door

the walkway on the left side of the house

on the other side of the house

the balcony on the third floor. can become adam's mini playground

and this is our lot :) the beaming in progress.

hubby insist for a weekly visit, and i decline the offer thoroughly! my say is, you'll only see the same thing and it wouldn't help much. so i suggested we made a visit again in 6 months time for progress monitoring. at least the beaming as above should be done by then. i am getting the vibe now!
