umar

Muhammad Umar bin Mohd Khairul Anwar

hush lil baby don't say a word, mommy's gonna buy you a mocking bird..
and if that mocking bird don't sing, mommy's gonna buy you a diamond ring

i'm a mother of two!

hello hello blogspot.... hello 2013.. and Salam Maulidur Rasul..lonnngggg time i have not update! Well, to begin with, i am now a proud mother of two :)

So where shall i start? Let's put it this way:

January 7th 2013 - 8.00am

I was on leave. Previous check up with the Gynae, I was told baby inside is relatively a huge one. Weighed 3.3kg at 36 weeks! Geeee! The Gynae so decided in order to deliver vaginally, she suggested induced labour, known also as force labour, which was scheduled on January 8th, once the baby's lung mature perfection. So i've set in mind, this labor will be a lil bit different from the previous one, hence the leave.

The fateful Jan 7th, noon time, i was packing verrrrrrilyyyyy my final stuff for the hospital bag, when suddenly body started to shiver. Mannnn, I can't be sick! I'm going for labour! Was secretly telling myself. I stood still and in midst of trying to configure things, my temp rises! By having a good sleep i thought would somehow reduce the sickness but nayyyy. Ain't helping! I woke up at 5pm, and felt numb. I imediately called husband and by 7pm we were already at Pusat Rawatan Islam Az Zahrah. From the net reading, I understood that baby's temp inside the womb can also rises likely when the mom is. So I trust it's better to run a check just to ensure everything's ok.

BP checked, ctg checked. The practioner (not my gynae) assure that i'm all good to go home. Baby's heart beat was a tad bit fast, but according to him that is normal for pregnant woman who's down with fever. I was prescribed paracetamol and sent home to rest.

10.00pm

Reached home and I quickly climbed for bed rest. I am the type who rarely caught fever, maybe once in two years so?, but when i'm down with it, hands down. Excruciating! Temp reading was 39.5! I was just about to get another round of good sleep when suddenly I felt the urge to pee. Went to the toilet hurried, when out of burst a pool of water gushed from underneath.. I was dumbstuck for a few seconds before I could pick up the scene.

Oh my, Did my water just broke?

I sat down, and trying to be calm.. Yes, I started to feel the leaking. I did not peed a pool of water from no where, but it's the amniotic fluid. Same predicament when I was with Adam.. So, I told my husband and we grabbed the bag and I quickly sniffed some foods before wheeling straight away to Az Zahrah again. Well, I need food to push the lil baby out later on.

11.20pm

The nurses made a thorough check up on me and hooked me up to the ctg machine again. I remember then the nurses said, "eh dah 4cm ni".. Argh no wonder i started having discomfort. The contractions are felt, well in about 10 mins interval.. The nurses the left the two of us in the room and reminded me to practise breathing whenever the contractions came.. Of course, I managed whatsapping bff's on my condition. Thank you for the words gurls :)

Oh Adam was left with Owan and Omak. I overheard him asking from outside 'mana mommy'..ahh, poor boy.

the last smile before the real wave of contractions hits.

January 8th 2013

By 12.30pm the contractions gets real and further intense. Like every 3 mins? Yeah. I groaned, I swayed, and breathed every contractions. Husband's comfort words did not do any help at this point. All i remember saying was sighing "úhhh and ahhh" and awe-ing in pain. Mom and Grandma doing their best massaging my back, but neither both helped much.

It is soooo much pain, I must admit!

The nurse then came to check again and was suprised it's already 8cm cervix opening. Ah no wonder its unbearable. If you were wondering, no, I don't take any epi, gas, or what so ever. I was determined to endure the pain naturally, as it comes :)

I heard the nurses were literally discussing among them..labour room occupied.. bla..bla.. And the next thing i know, my leg were already stirred up to the panel. Delivery mat were placed accordingly. There were like 5 nurses? My cheerleadings :p 15 mins later my gynae came and took her position.. oh la la and the drama begins.

"Ok Fiza, contractions datang terus teran ye.."

To cut it short, I remembered pushing hard twice and then the gynae uttered "fiza satu kali lagi teran habes kuat fiza..tolong baby ni".. (since the head was already out) and with what all is left I did my very last push with all my might that finally brings the lil baby to the world. At 1.30am, January 8th 2013. Alhamdulillah.. I made it. Relieved :)

there you go my whooping 3.97kg baby boy delivered at 37 weeks! I don't believe it either! He's huuuuugeeee!

So that is my labour chapter, embarking the new year. Baby came just in time and NO induced labour :) On that fateful Tuesday, I became a mother of two. Will later continue on him and shoulder dystosia.

December 3, 2012

hello december @ 32 weeks

so November bids farewell.. Hello December.. :)

I haven't been very consistent with my updates, have I? At least I'm writing some so BabyII will have a trail of idea on mommy's journey bringing him into the world.

There's just so much happening in November. Best friends wedding, worktrip to Kelantan and touring the Asia's premier Legoland in Johor. Will later knock on it.

For now, at 32 weeks, according to the famous What to Expect " Baby's starting to get ready for her big debut, tipping the scales at almost four pounds and topping out at just about 19 inches. In these past few weeks, it's all about practice, practice, practice as she hones the skills she'll need to thrive outside the womb — from swallowing and breathing to kicking and sucking. And speaking of sucking, your little one has been able to suck her thumb for a while now. Something else to note: As more and more fat accumulates under your baby's skin, he's becoming less transparent and more opaque"..

Whoaa.. I started feeling this tightening sensation on lower part abdomen for quite sometimes. And a strained back too. Perhaps due to the enlarging bump and frequent walking on these past few days. And vividly, it puts me in the state of worries. Had a check done 3 days ago and Alhamdulillah baby seem to be in position already. Weighing at 2kg, he now has less room to swirl around. And wherever I go, I'll often get this remarks "eh, baby nampak dah turun tu.. x lama dah tu".. It further intensify the level of worries I have right now. Man, soo many things in mind to juggle.

Till then, will write again.

pregnancy so far

time really went rocket. no more longer flies.. Raya passes, tho still i believe most of us is in much raya mood, munching the leftover ketupat and on the raya cookies. Well I am, no doubt :)

So as of today, my pregnancy has now come to 17 weeks along. Wee. tick tock tick tock.. Will soon carry the title mother of two! Intimidating much? Because honestly it's not an easy task for one to endure. Earlier, with Adam, I experience too little of sickness I can say. As compared to friends on the same boat during the time, I had never once puke when I was carrying Adam and husband must thank me enough for not having any silly cravings out of the moon. It was a smooth sailing journey and explains the weight gain profoundly. Gahh!

However, It's slightly different this time. Entering my 13th weeks, i started having this nausea-feeling like vomiting every morning, every time I wanted to brush my teeth! Absurd I was thinking. It was all fine during the first 12 weeks and suddenly the changes kicking on my nerves. The hormones perhaps. It slowly subside by noon, thank god! I nap everyday without fail during days for one hour plus. I was all drained by 5pm. All I did was lay back and wait patiently for Azan Maghrib. Fatigue! Fasting while being pregnant is no joke. Alhamdulillah tho, I managed myself not missing out fasting. *clap hands* Deliriously I found out myself fancy much for sour & spicy foods (in dire need of cili api when i was in Dublin, no wonder). I lost 3kgs during the last check-up (I'm fasting kan :p). Shall wait for this weekend for my next screening.

Also, my biggest challenge was the trap winds! Made me feel uneasy through out the day. I somehow found my very own remedy for it. It's 100 PLUS! Omg, it works at that very instance, well for me at least! Husband kept on bugging that I cannot consume it daily, since it's carbonated. Only twice in a week, maybe? But I cheated :p. Felt soooo good having it.

Adam was all nice so far towards the baby in the tummy. Once in a while he'll asked "mommy baby tido ke?".. "mommy, baby dah makan ke?".. hehe.. But one thing I noticed, Adam has become more clingyyyy than ever. Like obviously. Sikit-sikit "mommy jangan tinggal Adam.." haihh.. drama king! So, I guess it's true on what the folks says. Kids can sense when mom's love about to be divided.

Sayang, you'll still be loved equally the same as baby InsyaAllah mommy promise.

On turning TWO

It's December 15th today, indicating there's just 2 weeks away on welcoming the new year. Time speed like out of the ground! It also means 2 weeks away on Adam turning TWO! And the mere fact is, similar to last year on him turning one where he was hospitalized for 2 days due to viral fever, which again this year on turning two, he caught the bug just again! Fortunately this time, he was not sentenced to the children's ward. THANK GOD! or maybe not just yet, who knows (please dun't let that happen).

Adam lost his fond towards food, to which everybody in the family questioned in awe. Very exceptional of him. The worst case even, he rejected milk since a week ago, and only consume meal once a day! To which has resulted in him loosing 1.5kg! On the other hand, himself is seem on a well being albeit the runny nose and coughs. Paed diagnosed him having enlarging tonsils and prescribed antibiotic to expedite the shrink. Oh Allah i succumbed to seek for your blessings.

Get well soon son!

disheartened

i came back home last night, to shocked, seeing my Adam with mild bruises on his hands, and a stretch of marks on his face..i felt soooo disheartened! no mommy on earth i think could tolerate when it comes to seeing your lil one in pain. so this morning, i stroke his hair and said.."adam, siapa buat ni (pointing at the bruise marks).."  he replied saying "a-thi-ra bat (buat)"..i went ouh..a gurl again.

last week i had experienced the same, but the marks were not too visible so i didn't make a big fuss out of it. i did asked thou, who did that to him..and he said aina. ohh poor boy. hm, this is the price that us mom will have to pay upon sending the lil one to caretaker. well, in a good way, i do see it as a learning process for toddler his age, but at the same time, it is agonizing!

ps:this morning as i was getting ready, Adam came to me asking "mommy otis (office)?..bye-bye mommy"..ohhh melt!

November 17, 2011

i'm torn

oh no..oh no.. i am now worried sick! From the 29th - 2nd Dec, i'll be on a one week work trip down south. Husband on the other hand, will be dedicating the entire week in Langkawi for LIMA..! Imagine Adam without parents for the whole week?? And when i was just about to seek love from Owan & Omak, they abruptly said, "mama & abah nak pegi Vietnam from 1st Dec until 4th"..Greatttt! Where's the love?

I must now ask my MIL and seek her tender love to take care of Adam while the busy parents being away. Oh poor Adam boy. We have never been apart at nights ever since he was born. Never. Can i do this? I mean let him sleep alone with PIL for the entire week.?? Now i'm torn.

Flip on to one page, then he said "mommy, i-nissshhh"..

November 8, 2011

..last night..

i did little conversation with Adam last night.. well, more like language enhancing for him.

Mommy: Adam, bunyi cat macam mana?
Adam   : Eoww..Eoww
Mommy: Good Boy!

Mommy: Adam, bunyi Bird macam mana?
Adam   : Tutu..Tutu..
Mommy: Haa, tutu? em,oklah kot.. (laughed out in heart)

Mommy: Adam, bunyi Chicken macam mana?
Adam   : Kokok..Kokok..(like the sound you heard for subuh prayer)
Mommy: Hahahaha.. (this time can't contained and i burst out)

Mommy: Adam, bunyi Cow macam mana?
Adam   : Mooo..mooo..
Mommy: Ok, pass (got a kiss on forehead)

And i then move on to his Yellow Book on Fruits.

Mommy:What's this Adam? (flipping over the first page)
Adam   : Ni Owen..ni appol..ni banana..ni gape..ni payaya..(mommy laughed again)..ni cayyot..ni bootan..
Mommy: Good Boy!

Adam   : Mommy, nak do-do..jom mommy (held to my hand) walking towards the room.

Ahh..again i'm saying it, you're so grown up dear. *_*

of him being vain :p

October 27, 2011

by leaps and bounds

boy oh boy, it's year end eve already! October 2011, bidding farewell eagerly. what have i made coming up this far? not much. pretty not much obviously. the resolution made at the very beginning of the year seems too far still. sombre.

Somehow, this little boy has indeed developed through out the year. By leaps and bounds. I sometimes cry my heart out seeing him becoming a little boy. that i no longer get to address him as a tiny-winny baby like i did. he's all grown up, learning, and changing at astonishing facets. he wakes up in the morning with a huge grin compelling to himself and says "morning amie".. and myself went all emo on that particular 2 words, shedding tears. I seem to find it hard handling emotions especially pertaining to him. Is it what people said 'motherly instinct'? He has now making abilities on constructing simple sentences. For example;

Situation 1: he was seeking for ayah to fix his car and came to me saying "amie, ayah ne?" i replied to him "ayah shower".. he nodded but in awe grimaces..on other circumstance, when he's done with 'business', he'll say "amie, adam yakk cukk..wash amie"

Situation 2: he endlessly point to a bus whenever he sees one. This time around, he'll say "amie, nak na-ik bus" *haha, mommy herself has loooooong ago did not ride on a bus*..likewise the train and aa-yo-pane.. "amie, nak na-ik aa-yo-pane"..

Situation 3: adam got this huge obsession for keys! The car keys respectively. He himself is able to identify which key is ayah's and which is mine. Even owan's & omak's (my mom) all in his mind. One fine morning, he look up to where we safe keep our car keys and notice owan's missing. And so, he came up to me, asking "amie, key owan ne?"..with an instance smile i said, go ask owan..and off he ran for owan asking the same. It happens all the time whenever someone's key dislocated from the place.

Situation 4: "amie, adam amuk (camuk)"..yes, such an honesty that forces mommy extra work-out of the day. every time he mess up his play area, he brave himself taking the plunge. not feeling guilty at all.

Situation 5 : On the dinner table, when he sees the table are all set and ready to be served, he'll go "ayah, akan (makan)..owan akan..cichik akan..annah akan" every one in the house will not be left out. He'll repeat effortless and will only satisfy upon presence.

And more of the list continues. He is making path to even more unexpected exuberance in the coming years and i find myself simply looking forward to every seconds of it. Adam, you never fail to make me burst out in tears, be it happiness at a painstaking point sometimes. :p

my second boyfriend, who now weighs 14kg :)

20 months

tick tock tick tock... lapse of time is definately felt! adam is now 20 months young, and will soon turn 2! How time has never wait for even a single second. He's no longer a baby as it may seems, but eternally he is at heart. And i shall pat myself for being able to render the duty of a MOTHER coming to this point. Lots and loads of PATIENCE needed along the way and much say, days ahead in dealing with him becoming toddler, meeting new phase of environment in life, the unpredictable. It is said, watching the parents control their temper may be the first step in his learning to control his.

At this point, Adam has never fail to amuse us. Everyday, and every deeds he's developing and absorbing the sees and do's from surrounding. Notes on his being 20 months;

1. Understand simple instructions i.e "Adam, go get the Remote Control for me please"..- and he'll be back with one.
2. Still emerging language skills - he remembers precisely on certain things i.e whenever he sees the Petronas logo, be it outside, in the newspaper, on notebook, even on ayah's shirt. He'll shout for "nassss"..
3. On the new vocab he picked -  McD (mek-nol-nol), Shell (dell), Playground (pey-gong), House (house), Bicycle (kal), Pillow (wo-wo), Aeroplane (aa-yoo-pane), Tractor (tek-torr) Merdeka (deka) and few more to mention..
4. When i point to him and asked, "who's this?"..he replied saying A-tammm.. cute i think!
5. He has now complete his Transport book.. and moving on to the First Word Book..
6. Address waitresses he bump into as "kakak"..
7. Knows to pull his pants off when mommy said shower time.
8. Whenever done's with 'business', he'll let us know.. "mommy, yakkk".."wash mi" ..and oh i think he's ready for potty training kot kan.. hmm, must do reading on this.
9. Loves "aa-kutt" (Yakult) and "yatt"(chocolate)..NOT GOOD! most of the time i'd hide whatever that is chocolate based from his sight. I personally do not want him to consume chocolate/candies at this age.
10. Knows how to knock - knock when entering a room, gives salam i.e akum whenever enters the house. And prefers running instead of walking!
11. Refuse his binky on his own! He went no-no when i offered one. Good boy!

Adam, the list sure continues as time goes by. Whenever one day you read what i have jot down, i want you to know, despite the naughtiness - makes mommy went adammmmm!!! whenever you lashes out, you did not fail to impress. You put a smile on my face when i needed one most! And knowing you calling mommy mommy see is (this) from outside when i was taking bath, is such a wonderful feeling you know. It is felt at heart. I didn't realized it until today. Mommy loves you son!

July 7, 2011

bile adam nak dapat adik ni?

too adorable she is.

Those are the frequent most favorable Q i foresee nowadays.
No one can answer that question except for us, and boy, is it a tough one. YES.
Some say it's even harder than deciding whether to have a first child — because you're not just talking about having a baby, you're talking about changing a family.
With each new child one have to think about how that baby will affect your lifestyle, FINANCES especially, work, relationships, and, of course, your other kids. And if you listen to the word on the street, growing your family by one means more than double the work for Mom and Dad. There are just so much. Plus, i'm also planning to further studies and i cannot afford juggling assignments and baby both at the same time. Both requires 150% attention. No kidding.
So me and hubs had our pillow talk moment to ourselves regarding this. We talk (deep), brought up all the acquaintances..Adam will turn 3 next year. Hubs said "oh look at him. i see him as a tiny baby still, belum puas lagi bemanja dgn Adam".. i then replied, "sayang, he'll forever be a baby at heart".. and we're 28! *_*
And what i concerned most, once a second child is born, i would feel guilty that i can no longer spend as much time with Adam. Fortunately children receive attention and learn from each other. Will i be able to cope? Can i deliberate my role well? Hmm..
Oh well.. it was only quarter through and we both fell fast asleep. to be continue then..
ps: i want pink *hint* :p

18 months adam

he turns 18 months today and this was what he gets for being 18 m.

this one was taken on our way to Az Zahrah Hospital.

poor boy!

my heart sank upon looking at his wound on the day i received call from Kakak Fatin. I  went blank for a second. Beats of my heart stopped and i can feel that my nerves ain't collaborating. I was still dumbstruck in awe.. Adam was still bleeding in awry when hubby picked him up from Kakak Fatin and . the wound were deep. The visible scars on his forehead could tarnished over time but it will be a retaining scar at heart.

Alhamdullillah he seems to be okay for now. No feverish symptoms, no vomiting or throwing what so ever, and loved food like always. Apart from the bleeding, the rest he seems to be okay. PAED rest assures no further examine needed unless those mentioned persist. Alahamdullillah. I couldn't ask for more. Thank you for the prayers on fb.

Mommy: Adam, show mama kat mana tett (sakit)?

Adam : *touch forehead* and he'll go to the mirror for a double check his forehead before he nodded yes.

HAPPY 18 MONTHS YOUNG DEAR BOY!

May 9, 2011

mama

Mother's day yeayy! second celebration for me. they say, the day a baby is born, a mother is also born.. yeah, make sense la of course...  i remember during my before puberty age, where i was all comot, i used to do my DIY mother's day card to mom. and she'll go "oh, how sweet..very lovely, thank you daughter" and i went blush and self proud. i brag about it all week. especially to my two brothers. because they did nothing for mom. so i went saying mom love them less. yeah, we were like cats and dogs those days.

For this year, nothing lavish to complement BUT we manage to make up for a cheerful and cozy one. uncle and cousins drop by at our place, so we tag them along for dinner. the waiter rolled his eye big when we requested a table for 16..no, we did not made any reservations. and glad the cafe did accommodate us. we talked, we laughed, cheer the company we had for the night, and eat and continue eating until the clock strikes 11..whoaa! we are family!

Sorry mom, your ONE and ONLY daughter have nothing lavish for you. BUT i promise you, my LOVE i have for you is beyond the luxurious amount of the royal wedding at Buckingham Palace. i know i don't say it often, and i don't say it loud. action speaks louder.. that is ETERNAL LOVE mom.. sincere from your daughter.

the moment that i will forever ignites!.
during akad. i cried like i would never see mom again! make up all dash out. Couldn't help thou. it was the moment of life, transiting to all a different level of life. even mom couldn't hold hers back. safe keep in heart moment i name it.
Mom, your love and affection has made me what i am today.

with love,
your one and only daughter.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO MIL TOO

of need some enlightenment

ohhh.. i was late this morning! like 9 in the morning late! cannot happen again, must affirm that!

only last night, Adam had this super cranky and end up wailing his lungs out moment..he HAD never before. (except for yahh, back then when he was a tiny baby who cries for hunger), but other than that, NONE. He don't wake up in the wee hour for milk ever since he started solid. He slept safe and sound through out the night. Maybe that was the reason why mommy gained weight easily. wuhuuu

BUT, particularly last night, he woke up at 1 am and started whimsical tears, becoming clingy, and left me puzzled. tummy ache kah, since no temp reading or feverish signs. so, i rubbed on yu-yee, and stroke his back motherly. he stopped for like 5 mins before all the drama started again. both me and hubby when puzzled in the dark. what laa has went wrong ni? people, it aches me seeing him crying without knowing to resume. he seems to be in pain. again, i stroke his back, forehead, snuggle him close to chest and recites fatihah.. and it just all fail miserably..he refuses milk which he never did before..hmmm..so, i keen on letting him sleep close to my chest for the night..the drama went off for 3 episodes okay!!! not just one! am becoming the walking zombie today, who misses her good sleep too much.

in the morning, he woke up pretty okay it seems to me, refuses milk still, throw away his favorite potato bun, toss the cornflakes on to the floor (mess!) and bitter cranky. so, upon sending him to the babysitter, i told kakak fatin's mother bout it, seeking the elderly's opinion they say..

kakak fatin mother responded: ohhh...agaknye nak tumbuh geraham die tu... cucu acik dulu mcm tu la..3 hari x lalu makan, x lalu minum, meragam nanges2... die x demam la tapinye..lepas 3 hari baru acik perasan, kat belakang tu haaa geraham besar die kuar...memang budak tu nanges, meragam, air liur pun meleleh...

me: ohhhhh... yeke.. patut la.. *image of adam salivating last night came into picture* oklah, acik tlg tengok kan adam ye..kalau demam ke ape, acik bgtau lah..

walk away and talking to myself, ok, now i geddit...at least not clearly vague, but a rough one. deep in heart, am praying for nothing serious. because i want my chirpy little boy back..i need that for the weekend! those are therapy, for all i know ever since he make his existence into the world.

February 24, 2011

he tipped it!

i bet, all mommies out there would crack ideas out of their head, getting unruly things into mind, in making a child proofing for the safety sake of their babies. be it the kitchen (adam loves kitchen!), bathroom, dining (where the big vase full of flowers stands of course) and even the staircase. i dare not take a single risk out of it.

in Adam's case, almost entire proofing is needed. he explores every single thing. (one time was, he went to the kitchen and brings out handful of onions and give it to mommy). he'll just collect everything.

so, i and the dad, anticipate. in the minimal way and given what ever we have in the house of course, we would find one best way to not let the little boy drained our energy out easily..so, here is one way of not leading him to the kitchen..

we placed this box cover (conventional way), with hope no trespassing by the little one. (so mommy and ayah can watch csi without the needs of running back and forth to the kitchen after him)

you guys think he surrender? wait and see here..

x

tadaaa! he tipped it over! (this is easy mommy! not challenging at all!)
and off he runs to the kitchen scouting for what else to manipulate mommy and ayah.

hmm..(mommy and ayah garu kepala..)

travelling with a baby

How thrill can that be? :p

it's already 16th day puasa! my little family will be heading up north for the first raya (dad's side) and later, like the previous years (exceptionally last year, the first time raya at MIL's) we'll all geared up towards east cost (mom's side - oghe kelate) the next day..can u just imagine the dreadful journey am about to embark? albeit the heavy festive traffic, jammed, queeing, hassle in R&R, like all alarmingly not to give in, can adam behold of it? can he stays put? can he behave thru out the journey? this is my very main concerned for now, i'm afraid.

When adam was practically young (i mean newborn - he's just still a baby for sake! haha) - things work out within split seconds! take a suitcase-full of equipment just to visit the supermarket - the thought of travelling any further can be a bit intimidating!

prior to this, we did manage successfully make our way all down to south. without any pit stop! it was night travelling. wearily, that was 3 months ago, when adam was 4 months old! mind you, he was less handful, during the time. plus, i dun need to prepare food for him, since he has not started solid, and also, those were the times he favor sleeps rather than any other things! unlike now, where he found out the exploration in car are pretty much exhilarating! he have this fondness to the gear, click on and click off on the radio button, and even find it super excited to meniarap in the car! he now has a wavelength of all his own. mommy'll definitely go head-ache + back-ache. but for sure, on top of that, mommy love you most cheeky-boy! despite for all, i know ur growing by leaps and bounds.

i did some reading on net to help ease the becoming painstaking which are among others:

Food and comfort

• If you're not breastfeeding, ready-to-use formula is the most convenient thing to bring for your baby. Or just make a few bottles of formula at home to bring along.

• Bring only as much baby food as you'll need for the journey. You can always buy more once you reach your destination. (Exception: If you're traveling internationally or to a place where it might be tough to find what you need, it may be less of a headache to pack a full supply of food.)

• Also helpful during meals: A bib that's large enough to cover most of your child's outfit, has a plastic or waterproof coating that allows it to be easily wiped off and reused, and can be folded or rolled for easy packing.

• Bring enough diapers for the trip (or enough to last until you reach your destination and can buy more), bags for dirty diapers, and diaper-rash lotion. Diaper covers provide added insurance against leaks.

• Pack at least one extra set of clothes for yourself and your chlid that's easily accessible (for instance, in your carry-on bag). You never know when a diaper leak, spit-up, or other mess might render an outfit unwearable.

Entertainment

• Take along a goody bag containing a few of your child's favorite toys, plus some surprises. Possibilities include musical toys, board books, empty containers, nesting toys, and hand puppets. Playthings that will hold your child's attention the longest are your best bets.

Travel gear

• Stick a travel-friendly changing pad in your diaper bag for use in public or airplane bathrooms.

• Stash some large, resealable plastic bags in your car trunk or diaper bag. They're a simple solution for the temporary storage of messy items like dirty diapers, bibs, and wet bathing suits.

• If you need both a car seat and stroller for your trip and your child is still small enough for an infant car seat (around 20 or 22 pounds maximum, depending on the seat), a stroller or stroller frame that will carry the car seat cuts down on the gear you have to lug, as well as the hassle of getting in and out of cars and airplanes. It also allows you to move your sleeping babe from the car to the restaurant without disturbing his slumber.

and also, according to heretravelling at night is often the best option, as he is more likely to sleep until you've arrived! Some babies, though, seem to spring into action the moment the engine stops - if your baby is one of them, you could find yourself trying to persuade him to go back to sleep in the middle of the night ... when you're worn out from the journey!

The other consideration with night-time driving is that it may not always suit the driver (must make sure ayah have his best co-driver), particularly after a day at work. For safety's sake, anyone considering driving overnight should get plenty of rest beforehand.

and now, am scratching my head to think of those things to bring back for raya, name it be all - brg2 adam will take up half of the car! plus his strollers and all! mommy must think of a way to conjure the limited available space. somehow, in spite of the best efforts, car journeys with baby can have their stressful moments. all i need to do, is to keep calm and, never let baby distract. If, whenever adam needs attention, will definately pull over and take a break.the safety and that of my baby is paramount.

all i hope, the long journey will sail smooth back and forth for us :)

tips on becoming a good mother

yeayyy! the much much awaited weekend's finally here.there's just soo much to do, bingo of a plan A and B next, which eventually, in the end of the day, realise not much has been done. pull down with dissapointment.

rather how, as i was clicking on the explorer, found this very-much-related article on tips becoming a good mother..leisure reading on friday-noon.no alamanda this week.. :) had enuff of alamanda for the week.i believe definitely all the sane-mother on the planet would make up their effort in becoming one..at least i do.. How to be a good mother? Many women do not have any clue on what traits make a good mother. Sometimes, what you feel good may not be necessarily good for the child. Thus, here are some good Qualities or characteristics to develop to be a good mother to your child.

Set a good Example: Since the mother is the most important person in the life of a child it is important for her to be a positive and moral role model and example that the can look up to, appreciate and honor. Whatever the child observes from her, such as her housekeeping habits, her manners, her relationships with others, the way she spends money and in general her lifestyle, will all undoubtedly affect the child’s character.

Be there for the Child: In the initial years of childhood the child needs the mother more. It is very important for the child to spend quality time with the child. It is okay to be a friend or buddy to your child but remember that ultimately you are their parent and it is your responsibility to provide them moral and ethical guidance. A good mother is compassionate and gentle but firm in discipline

Love and Patience: A mother’s love is unmatched. Remember that a mother carried you in her womb, fed you and protected you even when she was in pain and suffering even before you were not born. To a good mother you are special no matter you are young or old, healthy or handicapped, troublesome or obedient.

Be a Good Listener: A good mother is a good listener as well. She spends quality time with her children and patiently listens to them when they talk and give them quality advice and help them in negative circumstances. A good mother is always an approachable person for a child to talk

Responsibility: It is said that motherhood is a full time career. If you have brought the child to the world then also be ready to accept the responsibilities that comes along with motherhood.
