bargain of the month!

hello again.

its school holidays!hurrah hurrah for the kids and all the teachers out there!regardless of what u've planned for the children, dun put them at risk of any harm.make it one enjoyable dedication of the family indeeds :)

ok, my little adam recuperates pleasantly, despite bit bit of running nose which cause the delay in his sleeping patterns. it goes like this, when a cold attacks, the swelling and the increase mucus in a baby's narrow nassal passages makes it difficult to breathe thru the nose, so sleeping may be disturbed.at this point of time my little adam doing great just!guess the pouring tenderness from mommy heals :p

apparently, back to the topic above, being the marvel mommy i am, can i ever stop the nerves whenever spotted baby's garment on shelves?irresistable!:) on my way back from my graduation (will later post an entry on this) me and the GBS bunch went for a lepak session at bangsar village which is just nearby to INTAN (where the ceremony was held).my glance quickly capture this one shop named adam's kids!whoa, little that i know my little boy owns one :) and after several glance, i tempted for this one:

hott and sexxay:p must go again!

this one mommy bought during the friday lunch time in alamanda :) thats the good part and not-so-sood part when ur office is located complacent to a shopping complex.

later only that i found out they're having a PONEY FAIR here.they're opening from 8th - 13th june.surely i must not miss the chance for an eye at least.basically, on scales, there are not much of an item offered, but there were few worth a good bargain!and mommy grab this for the little adam

sweater!red hott one :)

the continuation when should mommy starts solids

ok peeps.am done with the weekend chores.about to continue on my research on starting solids.starting solids is not simply about throwing any food,  be it must remember, your immediate goal is to introduce your baby to solid foods, not fill him up on solids. Milk feedings will continue to be a major part of his diet for the next several months.Because u're not only putting food into your baby's tummy, you are introducing lifelong attitudes about nutrition. hrmm.

WHICH FOOD IS BEST TO BEGIN WITH?

Begin with foods that are not likely to cause allergies and that are most like the milk baby is used to. If your baby is used to the sweet taste of human milk, start with mashed bananas. If baby is used to the more bland flavor of formula, try rice cereal mixed with formula (or with your milk if your breastfed baby prefers rice cereal to bananas). Rice is the most intestinal-friendly grain because it is gluten-free, low in protein, and high in carbohydrates. It has a nutritional profile more like a fruit than a grain. Mix the cereal to a soupy consistency and lessen the amount on milk or formula you add as baby gets better at eating.

HOW MUCH FOOD SHOULD I OFFER?

If your baby eagerly accepts the first fingertipful of food, offer a little more the next time. At these first feedings, baby may actually swallow only a teaspoon or two of food. Gradually increase the amount you give baby until you are offering a quarter-cup or more at a time. Remember, your initial goal is to introduce your baby to the new tastes and textures of solid foods, not to stuff baby. As with all areas of development, babies take two steps forward and one step back. Expect erratic eating patterns. Baby may take a couple tablespoons one day and only a teaspoon the next. Baby may devour pears and refuse bananas one day, then the next day ignore the pears and gobble down the banana. That's all part of the feeding game. Relax and realize that you can't control your child's every mouthful. Don't force-feed a baby. Know when enough is enough. (Your baby knows.) Observe stop signs:
  • Baby purses lips, closes mouth, and turns head away from approaching spoon.
  • Baby leans away from the advancing spoon, uninterested or wanting to avoid the food entirely.
  • Leaning toward the food or grabbing the spoon or hand of the feeder indicates a desire for more
Begin with single-ingredient foods and space the introduction of each new food at least one week apart. If your baby has a reaction, you'll know what to blame. The most usual signs of food allergy are:
  • bloating and gassiness
  • a sandpaper-like raised red rash on the face
  • runny nose and watery eyes
  • diarrhea or mucousy stools
  • a red rash around the anus (we call this the "target sign.")
  • generally cranky behavior
  • vomiting or increased spitting-up
If you have a family history of food allergies or are particularly worried about them, keep a food diary, which not only helps you learn your baby's preferences, but helps you be more objective about which symptoms are caused by which foods. As you change the foods that go in one end, expect a change in the color, consistency, and frequency of the waste that comes out the other end. This is normal, and not a sign of food intolerance. You may notice bits of food in baby's stools , or the color may change -- red stools with red vegetables, such as beets, and yellow stools with carrots. Babies who overdose on bananas and/or rice products may become constipated. As your baby's intestines mature enough to digest the food more thoroughly, the stools will not take on so many characteristics of yesterday's meals.

ok adam, am now more prepared for u sayang.will make sure u get the utmost nutritions!mommy's about to enter the 2nd crucial phase.flabergasted!:)

source are from here: ask solids

when should mommy starts solids for adam?

the benign of when shall i start feeding solids for adam has been in mind since adam was 4 months old!not that am not aware that i should start feeding when he reaches 6 months old.its just the ethusiast feelings urge.haha.but i still wait thou.have not feed him any solids yet.adam is now 5 months and 1 week.as per his paed advice, i can start try him for solids at 5.5 months old.*suke* .owh did i mention about all the utensils for him which i bought 2 months back?yes, i did.blame the urge.not me.okay okay, its me!well, adrenaline rises up!haha.bought it at IKEA.who can resist when it comes to IKEA kan?:p

to answer my above quest, i simply refer to my-number-one-guide-on-net i.e babycenter.nah, here is what they have got to say You can introduce solids any time between 4 and 6 months if your baby is ready. Until then, breast milk or formula provides all the calories and nourishment your baby needs and can handle. His digestive system simply isn't ready for solids until he nears his half-birthday.

How will I know when my baby's ready?

Your baby will give you clear signs when he's ready to move beyond liquid-only nourishment. Cues to look for include:
  • Head control. Your baby needs to be able to keep his head in a steady, upright position.- i guess it a yes.adam scores A in controlling his head.
  • Losing the "extrusion reflex." To keep solid food in his mouth and then swallow it, your baby needs to stop using his tongue to push food out of his mouth.- erk, am not quite sure bout this.pass!
  • Sitting well when supported. Even if he's not quite ready for a highchair, your baby needs to be able to sit upright to swallow well.- no-no!he not sitting just yet!only few attempts made-results failure!
  • Chewing motions. Your baby's mouth and tongue develop in sync with his digestive system. To start solids, he should be able to move food to the back of his mouth and swallow. As he learns to swallow efficiently, you may notice less drooling — though if your baby's teething, you might still see a lot of drool.- owh this is the major reason am adamant for the urge!his been doing it since month-4.*chup chap chup chap*  and drool..*chup chap chup chap* and drool..explains the redness on his underlips.
  • Significant weight gain. Most babies are ready to eat solids when they've doubled their birth weight (or weigh about 15 pounds) and are at least 4 months old.- adam weigh 7.9kgs.more than a double then i say :)
  • Growing appetite. He seems hungry — even with eight to ten feedings of breast milk or formula a day. - very crap true!adam drinks 6oz per feeding and lapse 2 hours for every feeding!ouh-he must be really hungry then!
  • Curiosity about what you're eating. Your baby may begin eyeing your bowl of rice or reaching for a forkful of fettuccine as it travels from your plate to your mouth.- little bit.he started reaching for whatever served on the dinner table.the left over in fact.hrmm.

*to be continued..batt running low..*

finally!met up with dr.nik his forever faith-committed paed. adam somehow got enthralled by the hanging toys in the doc's room.

ahaa..!adam's figuring himself out, how much does he weight at this point..see peeps, am 7.9kgs already!geee, am a happy baby indeed :) despite all the jeluak, i gained!:)

wutt???no more picss???owh shooo..mommy and ayah was instantly busy video-ing urself on jab!yess, he wailed out of his lung!termendously!the first jab given was the 2nd dose of 'tiga serangkai' and the other one was pneumococcal used to protect infants and young children against disease caused by the bacterium Streptococcus pneumoniae (pneumococcus) 'source from wiki'. also, added to top the list, adam had his 2nd rotavirus. click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotavirus_vaccine for futher reading.is it compulsory for all babies?well, apparently nope, it's not in the scheduled immunisation for babies, but rather it is advisable for babies who spent most of their time in nursery in void to gazillions bacteris spread there.mind you, those unseen bacterias dangered most!

adam somehow like the rotavirus. paed sed it tasted like yummylicious ice-cream.haha.once done with all the chores at the clinic, off we went, making our way home.adam slept all the way back home due to the jab i guess.poor him.nangis and nangis then tido..good boy sayang, u'll be ok by tomorrow dear.bear with it, and hang in there.
